Updated: Jan 30

PILATES REFORMER

Your Chill Guide to Rocking Your First Class 🌟

Hey there! Ready to kickstart your Pilates adventure? Whether you're looking to flex those muscles, find your zen, or just have a fun time, you've come to the right place. Let's dive into what you can expect in your first Pilates class, with a dash of real talk and heaps of encouragement!

1. Pilates: It's Not Just a Workout, It's a Vibe!

First things first, Pilates isn't just about getting fit (though that's a big plus!). It's about feeling good in your own skin, finding balance (literally and figuratively), and having a blast while doing it. Think strength meets flexibility meets total chill.

2. Walking into Your First Class Like a Boss

  • Instructor Goals: Your instructor is your new BFF here. They'll show you the ropes, so don't be shy to ask questions. No such thing as a silly question, promise!

  • Mix It Up: You'll find peeps of all skill levels in class. Just focus on your journey and remember – everyone was a newbie once.

  • What’s the Time?: Expect about 50min. of cool moves and good vibes. Time flies when you're having fun, right?

  • Fun with Gadgets: You might get to play with some neat equipment. Think of them as toys that amp up your Pilates game!

3. Getting Ready to Rock Your Class

  • Dress Code: Think comfy, stretchy, and something that makes you feel fab. Socks or barefoot – your call!

  • Bring Along: A water bottle (gotta stay hydrated) and maybe a towel. Mats? Most places have them, but feel free to bring your own.

  • Be the Early Bird: Getting there 10 min. early means you can chill, check out the space, and chat with your instructor on reformer safety and setup..

4. All the Feels

  • Nervous? Normal!: It's totally okay to feel a bit jittery. Take a deep breath, and embrace the newbie spirit.

  • Stay Cool and Kind (to Yourself): Some moves might be tricky at first. No stress. You're here to learn and have fun.

  • Make Some Friends: Pilates pals are the best. Don't be shy to say hi to your classmates!

5. Post-Class Vibes

  • You Did It!: After class, give yourself a high-five. You just did something awesome for yourself.

  • Consistency = Magic: The more you come, the better it gets. Set a routine that vibes with you.

  • Stay in the Loop: Follow your studio on Insta or join a Pilates group to keep the good times rolling.

See you on the reformer!
